Shala etiquette

Shala etiquette: cultivating harmony and mindful practice

๐ŸŒฟ Immerse Yourself in the Casa Sana Experience

Embark on your yoga journey with reverence for the space and fellow practitioners at Casa Sana. Our guidelines are crafted to enhance harmony within our shala, fostering a safe, smooth, and qualitative practice for all yogis.

๐Ÿ•’ Arrive on time, no late entry

The foundation of a fulfilling yoga practice begins with punctuality. To maintain a serene atmosphere and respect for fellow yogis, we kindly request that you arrive 10-15 minutes before the class starts. This time allows you to set up your mat, gather your props, and prepare your mind for a transformative experience.

๐Ÿ’ซ Leave your ego behind

Yoga is a journey of self-discovery and surrender. Embrace adjustments from your teacher, regardless of your level. Approach your practice with an open mind, positive mindset, and humble spirit. Let go of judgment, negativity, gossip, or any behavior that detracts from the collective energy of the shala.

๐Ÿšฟ Mind your personal hygiene

Out of respect for your fellow yogis, prioritize personal hygiene. Please ensure you are clean, brushed, and odor-free. Utilize a clean mat and props, and consider the comfort of those around you.

๐ŸŒŒ Be aware of your space

In a bustling class, be mindful of the space around you. Avoid walking on other people’s mats and maintain a considerate distance from your fellow practitioners.

๐Ÿ“ท Use personal devices mindfully

While we encourage capturing moments, please limit phone or camera use during the class. Feel free to take photos before and after the session, tagging us in your yoga journey. However, during class time, let’s immerse ourselves in the practice, respecting the sacred space we’ve created.

๐Ÿ‘Ÿ Remove your shoes

Enter the sacred realm of yoga with bare feet. Leave your shoes at the door, symbolizing a step into mindfulness and the practice ahead.

๐Ÿฉน Communicate about injuries

Communication is key to a safe practice. Inform your teacher of any injuries or physical concerns so that adjustments can be made to tailor the practice to your specific needs.

๐Ÿ“ด No personal devices, no phones

The shala is a sanctuary for clarity through meditation and practice. Switch off your devices and store them with your belongings to maintain the sacred atmosphere.

๐Ÿค Minimize conversation

Casa Sana’s studio is a haven for reflection, self-study, and focus. Please strive to maintain a quiet atmosphere, preserving the contemplative nature of the space.

๐Ÿงผ Clean up

After your practice, contribute to the hygiene of our space by cleaning your mat and blocks with the provided spray. Return all props to their designated spots, ensuring a pristine environment for everyone.

๐ŸŒŸ Be yourself

Above all, be authentic, and embrace the transformative journey that Casa Sana offers. Your unique presence contributes to the vibrant energy of our community.
